Mental Health Counselor Michael G. Holler was selected by the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association to receive the 2017 Mental Health Counselor of the Year Award.

Michael G. Holler

The Florida Mental Health Counselors Association advocates for mental health providers and clients throughout Florida while providing mental health counselors with opportunities to grow within their profession. Each year the members of the FMHCA recognizes both individuals and state chapters that have discovered creative ways to meet the unique challenges of today’s evolving mental health environment.

The Mental Health Counselor of the Year Award is given to an individual who has provided outstanding counseling service —including consultation— to the public, spending their time in direct counseling with clients.

Michael Holler’s private practice offers counseling for individuals, couples and family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, neurofeedback, forensic evaluation, and mediation. In October, Mr. Holler expanded his expertise by earning a certificate in Kink Therapy from the Kink Therapy Certification Institute.

I am so very proud of Michael,” said Dr. Patsy Evans, founder and professor at KTCI. “He deserves to be recognized for both his work and continued growth in the mental health field.”

Michael Holler is a compassionate, interactive, and solution-focused therapist with over 30 years experience. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He offers a highly personalized approach, tailored to each individual client using complementary methodologies and techniques.

I am so honored to receive this award, said Holler. “It gives me great joy to help others live a fulfilling and meaningful life.”

Mr. Holler, who is currently the Past President and Ethics Committee Chair of the Florida Mental Health Counselors Association, was nominated by his peers for this award. He, along with all of this year’s winners, will receive his award in February during the FMHCA’s Annual Awards luncheon at the FMHCA Annual Conference in Orlando.
